During his undergraduate career he served as the founding Director of the Arts Extension Service and then as Director of the Community Development & Human Service Programs in the Division of Continuing Education.

Throughout his career, Stan has been a champion for: education at all levels; fair and progressive taxation to support the public services we all need and want; environmental protection with an emphasis on recycling, conservation, and alternative energy; economic development for our region; and social justice for all.
